Grunt
“ | Trained as thoroughly in gnostic theology as close-quarter battle tactics, the Order's Triarii are conditioned to overcome enemies both physical and spiritual. Battle-hardened by years of clandestine deployments, Triarii are the Order's first, finest and usually final footsoldiers. | ” |

The standard rank and file of the Order, Grunts are hostile enemies found throughout Manufacturing West and Cascade Laboratories. Usually armed with either a Submachine Gun or Pistol, they're formidable opponents and especially dangerous in groups. They're usually found in squads with other Order soldiers, but can occasionally be seen guarding areas alone or accompanying a Lab Rat in a patrol.
Behavior
Grunts are often seen patrolling or in stationary locations. They also sometimes man machine gun nests. They are hostile to anything not affiliated with the Order, such as aliens, robots and the player.
Combat Tips
Grunts attack using their weapon at range, sometimes throwing a grenade, but will also attack with a melee attack if the player gets within range. Grunts often miss their shots and they have to reload when a magazine is empty, giving the player a chance to retaliate.
Ranged weapons are good options to use against Grunts, as they'll periodically try to move away from the player. Use of sharp weapons can also be helpful, as they're vulnerable to sharp damage. Attacks aimed at the head do more damage.
Their melee attacks can also be easily dodged if the player moves back when the Grunt starts the attack animation, making it easier to deal with them in melee range, given that the player can dodge these attacks properly.
Shields can be used to block their shots, besides their melee attacks.
Using stealth to sneak up to a grunt and attacking them with a sharp weapon with high damage (like a Welding Spear or Lightning Spear) or by using a Power Attack with a blunt weapon with high damage (like a Thermal Mallet or a Tech Sceptre) can kill them in a single shot if aiming to the head, provided the correct Stealth perks are obtained. Similarly, aiming a Scrapshot or the Antique Shotgun shot to their head at point-blank range will also often kill them in a single hit. Be mind that the Scrapshot's firing delay which could backfire your attempt.
Drops
Order Helmets will only drop when hitting Grunt in the head with a blunt/heavy weapon, or shooting it off (the Makeshift Crossbow and Grinder do not work). Helmets can be knocked off even if the Grunt is dead.
