The GATE Collective
Welcome to the GATE Collective, part of Abiotic Factor's Wiki!
Abiotic Factor, developed by Deep Field Games and published by Playstack, inspired a growing community of people dedicated to world-building inside the Abiotic Factor universe. This is due to it's attention to detail, uniqueness, and greatly supported theories, mysteries and speculations.
The GATE Collective was created by members of this community to store, archive and build upon fan-made content.
- E.g - The Canon Immurement Registry which documents creatures and phenomena alike, attracted your creativity and interest, so you decided to submit an Immurement Candidate, treating it as it's own individual story & documentation for others to enjoy.
Please remember that the content you may find here is built upon the world at large found inside the game itself, and we by no means claim any of it is canon to the actual story of the game or has any impact towards canon events. This is a space of creativity and soft roleplay , as well as a space to share story-related fan art, models, analog material, ARG material, etc.
GATE Collective Explained
IS - Immurement Subject These are considered canon and part of the Abiotic Factor universe. Anything GATE has identified or stored is considered an IS.
IC - Immurement Candidate These are fan creations and not formally recognized as canon. This uses a term formerly used by GATE to designate potential Immurement Subjects (IS) but as the terminology was officially deprecated by GATE, it is now in use by the community to identify fan creations.
Additionally, please make sure to check the availability of a number before pitching an IC article.
For example, your IC cannot be 0158, because 0158 already exists as an article. Think of these numbers as first come, first served.
It's also important to refrain from meme articles or ideas, such as using IC-6969 or IC-0420 for joke purposes.
Try to avoid cross-over situations or things that don't really fit into the Abiotic Factor universe. The best source of inspiration for content befitting the Collective is the Deep Field YouTube Channel.
Writing your own article
If you wish to create an IC article, it is best to take a look at this current page first. Here you can find the guidelines for making an Immurement Candidate, and see several examples of other fan creations.
You may also choose to attempt publishing an article that isn't an Immurement Candidate, and therefore do not have to use a pre-established naming convention (See Probe 4 Output (The Altumverse)).
GATE assesses all potential subjects for official immurement. Until such time as an IS becomes official (let's call it “canon”) it is under a different designation: IC.
Once you have an idea for your article, please ensure that the Number isnt in use for the official IS or other IC's. once you have your number you can create your page, simply go to the search bar and type in Fan:IC-<number> such as Fan:IC-0158 and create a page. If you need any more help or clarification on how to create a page just go to the deepfield discord and ask for help in the abf-wiki channel.
Rules
- The official classification is: Immurement Candidate (IC) and is assigned a four-digit reference number, for example: IC-1234.
- If you’re writing about a hypothetical candidate, please use the IC numbering system, instead of the IS numbering system, to help differentiate “canon” entities from “community created” entities.
- Typically these numbers should avoid any already in use by an IS, and it is always possible that GATE will announce an IS designation in future using that number, at which point any IC that uses it will, presumably, have to change.
- A reference number is unique and can be used only once. Consult the (SPOILER WARNING) ABF Wiki Immurement Registry for a list of known entities that GATE has canonically cataloged.
- IC’s are given provisional designations depending on their qualities and behavior, itemized on the Immurement Registry page. Use these as necessary.
- There are no current limits to what GATE may consider an IC: objects, artifacts, organisms, events, certain locations or anteverses – even ideas – may be considered an IC. Use your imagination!
- However, if you are researching a location, independent from our own local universe, it will most likely be categorized as an Anteverse, rather than an IC.
Your findings increase and expand our understanding of the universe and realms beyond. You can post your own findings in the community-led GATE Collective section of the Abiotic Factor Wiki. Please remember to respect the rules and regulations of the Wiki, both in the community-created content sections, and all official Wiki pages.
