Peccary is a hostile creature found in the Facilities.

Combat

The Peccary is an aggressive entity that will charge into its target. It will either tackle against the enemy or perform a leap attack to close the distance. It also has a more dangerous charged attack, where its body will spark with energy before sprinting in a straight line.

Strategy

If the player is unprepared, the Peccary can be a threat, especially at the start. A shield, such as the Plastic Shield, is very useful for blocking its attacks. Its charged attack can be dodged easily by moving out of the way once it has finished charging up. Attacking while it's charging up will stun it for a few seconds.

Using a Throw Net or Net Launcher stuns the Peccary for four seconds, allowing it to be attacked with a melee weapon easily.

Ranged weapons, such as the Makeshift Crossbow, are also an option, but one has to rely more on dodging its attacks and maintaining distance from the Peccary.

Trivia

• The Peccary is named after the animal of the same name.
  • Their namesake is somewhat smaller. This is because the alien creature was first observed from afar, so the scientists underestimated its size.
