Talagi Magnum

Talagi Magnum is a weapon in Abiotic Factor.

Uses

Talagi Magnum requires the player character to be equipped with the Biometric Armwraps. The recipe for the Armwraps is unlocked upon reaching Accuracy level 10.

Analysis

The Talagi Magnum is the highest-damage weapon in the game currently, in terms of damage per shot, making it a good option for stealth assassination builds and hit-and-run tactics. It beats out even the Wessex Rifle and Magbow by 10 points of damage per shot. It can also be obtained and used much earlier, since the Wessex Rifle requires the second tier Bio-Mimic Armwraps, which requires materials from the Hydroplant and Voussoir to craft, and the Magbow requires materials from the Security Sector to craft. Note that it is a random drop, however, and so may take some persistence to obtain.

Similar to the Wessex Rifle, the .357 ammo used by the Talagi Magnum cannot be crafted and can only be obtained from Captains and Ornate Crates, so it is not recommended as a primary armament.

Notes

• It is possible to acquire the Bio-Metric Armwraps earlier in multiplayer if another player achieves Accuracy Level 10 and creates the arm wraps. However, using the Talagi Magnum is impossible even with the arm wraps equipped, as Accuracy 10 is still required. If the player attempts to fire, a message "You aren't confident enough to use this item" appears, and nothing happens.

• Prior to 0.8.2, the Talagi Magnum was named the Military Magnum.
• The Talagi Magnum seems to have been inspired by the Colt Python.
