Personal Teleporter allows the player to teleport to a Crafting Bench by syncing a Personal Teleporter to it. Upon use, it teleports the player to its synced Crafting Bench, and all of its battery charge is drained, which then must be fully recharged to be used again.
The Personal Teleporter works from any location and can lead to any location, allowing the user to teleport to/from portal worlds. A bench must be powered to sync, but it does not need to be powered to use as a destination. This allows what is possibly an exploit by synching to a battery-powered bench, allowing repeated teleportation to anywhere a bench can be placed, not just near outlets.
It's possible to re-assign the Personal Teleporter to a different Crafting Bench and to have multiple personal teleporters linked to different benches, creating an ad-hoc fast travel network. It's advised to have at least two teleporters, one for travelling to the base and one to return from the base (or to return after dying and respawning). Placing a bench near the area you are exploring and synching a teleporter to it vastly reduces the tedium of walking back to the same location over and over. If carrying a bench overencumbers the player, putting it on the hot bar decreases its carry weight. Alternatively, the bench weighs substantially more than the ingredients used to make it, so duct tape, a power supply and pipe can be carried instead, and benches can be made on the fly as needed.
If no Crafting Bench is assigned or the assigned one has been packaged, dismantled or destroyed, using the Personal Teleporter will show a message alerting the player that it's not assigned to any Crafting Benches, and the teleport will not work. The teleporter must be resynched to work if a bench is dismantled, moved, and rebuilt.
Syncing a Personal Teleporter to a Crafting Bench makes it possible to append the name to the item's tooltip, which is useful when multiple teleporters are in use.
Note that a teleporter cannot be used while sitting, climbing a ladder, inside the Tram, or in the Elevator. Attempting to use a teleporter during these actions may deplete its charge.
