Cable Reroute
Cable Reroute is an item in Abiotic Factor used to extend the range of a Power Socket as part of Energy management.
Use
A Cable Reroute can be created by pressing the 'Fire' action button while holding a Power Socket, as long as there is at least one Tech Scrap in the players inventory.
Placement
Cable Reroutes do not show the 'energy dome' placement border like Power Sockets do; however, players can estimate the range of the cable by observing the blueprint ghost of the cable, which will change color from green to yellow to red as the player moves their cursor further away from the Cable Reroute. Cable Reroutes can't be placed outside their radius, regardless of where the player is standing.
Like a Plug Strip, Cable Reroutes can be place on walls and ceilings, allowing for tidier wiring setups and more flexible power routing. An infinite number of Cable Reroutes can be chained together, meaning that players' only restriction in wiring their base is the amount of Tech Scrap they have.
Deployment
While Cable Reroutes can only be placed when holding a power socket, they remain in the world even after being disconnected from the cables originally used to place them. They can be packaged like any other deployable, though packaging a Cable Reroute results in a single piece of tech scrap rather than its own item.
