Description
In its normal state ‘The Red Desert’ is a vast, seemingly endless plane of dunes composed of a sand-like material coated in a dark red and orange hue. Contrary to the typical asymmetrical sand swept dune patterns on Earth, the entirety of all dune formations within Anteverse 486 are perfectly symmetrical, with no other recorded formations of any kind.
The atmosphere within the anteverse is breathable despite having no clearly observable ozone layer, vegetation, carbon life or oceanic bodies of water anywhere near the entry point. Visually, the sky above ‘The Red Desert’ is composed of a bright orange ‘backdrop’ and large translucent floating rings of unidentified matter, often compared to the red blood cells within a human body under a microscope. Anteverse 486 has yet to display a nocturnal state, with a light cycle seeming to stretch for an indefinite amount of time. With the highest recorded number of ‘satellites’ in its skyline fitting the common description and distance of a star in a solar system being 4, despite the desert keeping a constant 35 C° (95 F°), and visible luminosity remaining constant.
In its normal state, Anteverse 486’s entropy levels have been recorded as impossibly low, and very rarely fluctuate outside of minuscule percentages.
Analog clocks and watches introduced into Anteverse 486 seem to become ‘suspended’ in time, with the second hand on watches seeming to move forward incredibly slowly, almost imperceivably with the naked eye.
Anteverse 486 is completely absent of any noticeable weather and environmental pressure changes. With total absence of a troposphere.
Gravity within the anteverse seems to behave identical to Earth, despite the impossibly low entropy, with only a small tangible decrease when propelling in an upwards motion. Perception of distance is immeasurable, needles within compasses introduced into the anteverse remain completely static between North East and East. Looking out in any direction reveals no notable visual abnormalities within the perfectly symmetrical dune patterns, not even heat waves. The skyline across the anteverse is surgically level.
Conducting even the smallest chemical or thermodynamic processes safely is impossible within the anteverse outside of controlled environments. Burning fuel, sublimation or deposition, friction between foreign matter and the environment etc. Could all have devastating spatio-temporal anomalous effects from sudden entropy fluctuations. The only recorded naturally occurring thermodynamic phenomena within the anteverse being an incredibly faint trace of atomic decay, and instances of IC-1185.

This is Dr. Manse speaking, Research Director.. Cascade Research Facility. Recent events in Garrick’s… ‘perforation’ project, as she likes to call it.. Have definitely been anything but foreseeable. Utilizing 0049’s effects to this degree is definitely not a course of action I would have agreed to in more reasonable circumstances.. but being the first one to suggest as much and as research director, it would be disingenuous to deny my stake within the ordeal. Regardless of grievances, the results have been undeniably remarkable.
Dr Manse, Cascade Research Facility. After an invoice from manufacturing even I balked at… we have successfully conceived our exploratory perforation infrastructure within the telemetric chamber, thanks to Dr Luca’s efforts. Dr. Truman insists on taking a more liberal approach to Luca’s instructions.. but I am afraid everyone, including myself.. are completely in the dark without guidance. Sylvia and I have tried to grasp the fundamental concepts while conversating with Lucas before, but his explanations are simply out of my frame. Its unfathomable how quickly someone of his expertise has risen to these scientific heights, but perhaps our recent ‘aid’ from the saint has a bigger part in it than we assumed.
Derek Manse, Cascade Research Director. Saying my scientific skepticism overcomes my human curiosity at this point would be fictitious. After spending countless hours discussing the intricacies of the array's limitations.. we have at last arrived at the crux of Conti's advancements. Last night after deliberate adjustments to the array power system and its telemetric receivers, we have successfully opened our first 'perforation' into what should be the correct spacetime coordinates outlined by Sylvia and Luca's guidance. Immediately after, our recording and measuring devices began flaring up like fireworks and the facilities' power grid began to buffer. Apparently, this gateway.. or whatever it leads to, is excreting information we have yet to identify. How the mechanisms behind all of this function have yet to befall upon me, but I believe it is too late to hesitate now, or anytime soon.
