Damage Types

In Abiotic Factor, weapons, enemy attacks, and the environment have various Damage Types. Certain Entities have weaknesses, resistances, and immunities to certain types of damage, most of which are displayed in their Compendium entry as colored icons: green for weakness, yellow for resistance, and red for immunity. Weakness is 1.5x damage, resistance is half damage, and immunity is no damage.

Damage Types are sorted into four classes: Light, Medium, Heavy, and Super. Each Shield is only capable of blocking damage of a certain class or below. For example, a Medium shield can block Medium and Light damage types but not Heavy damage. The Super class cannot be blocked by any shield.

Despite dealing no damage, the X-Ray Tower X-Ray Tower,OX Tower OX Tower, X-Ray Lamp X-Ray Lamp , and OX Lamp OX Lamp have their own damage type. Entities weak to this damage are otherwise invulnerable. It has an entity-specific effect instead of damaging them.

"Holy" damage ignores both armor and shields. This includes the Riot Shield carried by Rooks and Shield Troopers as well as personal hardlight shields used by Gatekeepers and Corrupted Robots.

Each piece of the Hex Armor Set provides 10% protection against "Holy" damage.
